Take a moment to think about something.
Think of a time where your nerves were shot and you were completely anxious about trying something new. You could have quit but you didn't. You stuck with it and got through and what happened? You were EXHILARATED! You tackled it, conquered it and just plain won the brass ring for getting through it.
I often think of those moments in my life when I am pressed with new decisions to press through fear or challenges. Would I like to live my life on the sidelines hearing about someone else's adventures? OR..... Would I like to create my own experiences?
I think you know the answer.

THE WISDOM OF WRINKLES
Have you ever consider that the wrinkles you may have are uniquely special to you?
From laugh lines, to deep lines of stress and hardship, all of them make up the journey you have lived so far.
When I meet people as they get older and see wrinkles, I know there must be myriads of stories to be shared and that there must be a lot of life wisdom to be learned from listening to that person.
Don't be ashamed of wrinkles. Maybe they are a gift to remind you that you have lived and that you have learned many important life lessons along the way.
Embrace who you are and remember to never be ashamed of a few wrinkles.

WHAT WE TAKE FOR GRANTED
Have you ever stopped to really think about all of the things that you are blessed with?
Instead of looking at what you don't have, maybe it is time to take stock of what you do have.
We live in a society of want. Always wanting more but do you really need more?
Often times, what we really need, we have, and it is those things right in front of us that we take for granted.
Imagine if you had to go without. If you were stripped of everything.
What is it that you would need first?
Perspective is an interesting thing. We live in a time where there are more and more people living in poverty, unable to meet their basic needs. More people with medical issues including 1 in 3 people in North America who suffer from mental health diagnoses, 1 in 2 people will get cancer, the exponential rise of diabetes and obesity and the list goes on.
Open your eyes and take a look around you. Even in your own backyard, there are those in need. Maybe it is time to lend a hand as often times, the best way to help yourself is to help others.

TAKE BIG GLORIOUS RISKS
Climb, climb, climb!!
Never be afraid to try. Dare to risk in order to achieve that accomplishment you have been striving for or to grab that great tasting fruit you have been dreaming about, whatever that is.
Limitations are for the insecure but pushing past limits are for the daring, the optimistic and the true lovers of life.

THE COMPETITIVE EDGE
Do you want to get ahead of the competition?
If so, the best defence is smart thinking and strategic decisions. To do this you must be clear in your thinking, strong in your passion and have a burning desire to win.
Whether it is just for you or you are leading a team, keep your eyes focused forward and run the race with your best effort extended.
You may not be the first to get there this time, but with focused dedication will you continue to refine yourself and develop solid leadership capabilities to lead you through any waters.

THE SIMPLE PLEASURES
Take time to fill yourself with things that soothe your soul and make you feel strong and free.
So often we go through life and the first things we forget about is our health and our state of mind. Making your health and your mind a priority is going to set the stage for a strong foundation for being able to handle what comes in front of you.
Turn what is viewed as a burden into a pleasure and watch yourself become pleasantly surprised ... and motivated to win!

BECOMING THE BEST VERSION OF YOU
I have been blogging a lot about developing your personal leadership potential. I truly believe in experiencing opportunities that allow you to grow and learn new things about yourself. So many times, people will comment that they want to have a career like mine, or take an adventure or have a future of maybe something they deem I have done. Really it comes down to taking action and there are so many people who inspire me to be doing better as well.
Being willing to be curious about what you could do rather than what you think you can't do is a great place to start.
Through the journey of leading my life in the best way possible, I have also journeyed through fear, doubt, worry and the list goes on. The difference I have found however, is pressing onward and persisting through it. In seeking my potential, through doing things that may be out of my comfort zone, I always come out on the other side of those limiting emotions and have become wiser as to who I am and my perception of the world around me.
There is nothing that can replace, allowing yourself to have real time life experiences.
Are you going to live life through a book and reading everyone else's posts or will you grab life and start experiencing it on your own terms?
Food for thought...

HELP OTHERS
Mentor, giver, leader, helper, Good Samaritan, friend. Whatever the label you may give yourself, the fact is that when you are of good heart and mind to help others succeed, you will succeed yourself.
The key to build a solid character and to develop key leadership skills is to never stop being of service to others. You will always learn something new about yourself and time and time again you will be changed for the better because of the experience.
